SSPX Rosary Crusade for Russia: Provisional Total

Some figures have still to be received, but it appears that in response to its request for a crusade of 12 million rosaries for the intention of the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the Society of St Pius X has received, to date, more than 18 million.

I can’t quite take the news in.

Presumably this is connection with the Fatima gnosis. The consecration of Russia advances soul by faithful soul in the hearts of her Orthodox faithful; not by remote control, by the Pope.

I must admit that I am not clear in my own mind as to whether the conversion of Russia will be to the Catholic Church or to Russian Orthodoxy. The conversion is indeed happening. I saw a couple of programs on EWTN in which the Church (the one founded by Jesus Christ with Peter at its head), is making great strides in Russia. The last one I saw was located in the Vladivostock area where the Church had regained ownership of its property ( the church building) and had two priests from America, both of whom had learned to speak Russian, and were making a great impact on feral youth, whom they fed, and showed them a truly loving Church instead of a dead socialism which threw them out into the streets. They had convinced some young women that abortion is an evil and not simply a convenient way of disposing of the inconvenience of having children.
Another programme showed the growth in vocations in areas in which the Church had been re-established. These were not exactly recent programmes but were at least three or four years old, so I would expect that things have moved on from there. There is even a hint that Putin might be turning back to Christian roots.

Surely, John, it ought to be as clear as can be to anyone who believes Roman Catholicism to be "founded by Jesus Christ with Peter at its head"? The Orthodox, as you know, believe nothing of the sort; and in addition to the Catholic and Apostolic faith preserving them from devastating errors, the Russians also have Dostoyevsky's Grand Inquisitor to spell this one out in detail.

Since you want to post in cliches Ben then I'll give you one:-
"Half a loaf is better than no bread"
and the translation of that would be Russian Orthodoxy is better than nihilistic Communism.

I might just add a little on how the church in Vladivostock came to be restored.
When JP II last visited Poland a group of latent Catholics from Vladivostock went to see him. They knew bits about the Church from grandmothers and the like and felt drawn to go and see the Pope. They actually met in Poland and they previously did not know each other. When they discovered that each had similar secret roots they decided to meet up back in Vladivostock. One thing led to another and they petitioned the local Council to restore the Catholic church to them. It had been used as occasional, Council, offices. Finally this was agreed and then the group wanted a priest so they wrote to Rome. The upshot was that they got one priest from America and then another. It is, now, a very active and flourishing Parish.

And another thing Ben.
Dostoevsky is certainly not Holy Writ........But perhaps you NOW ..believe that it is.
I must look again at my list of the errors of Orthodoxy by James Larson.
Ho, Hum!
You lot did manage to get Easter right this year, I'm told.
